Description
Indalo is a Location-Based Asynchronous Chat (LBAC), or just location based chat (LBC).
Advisory: DO NOT POST AT HOME. Only post in publice places.
Here are the basics:
Posting Messages: you can only post to device verified locations. All posts are permanent and are tagged with your handle, time, and location.
Chat View: the chat view dynamically shows all posted messages within your listening cirlce. As you move, the chat changes in real time. Press \"Range\" to change your listening radius.
Ghosting: turn iPhone sideways and move the map to view the chats from non-verified locations, or \"ghosted locations\".
Instantly create a chat with a group in one location such as school, conferences, or events. Just set to a small listening radius appropriate for the occasion.
Remember, all posts are public, permanent, and can be seen by anyone with either a large enough listening radius or in ghost mode.
Future versions will allow ghosted messages along with other yet to announced features.
Again, whatever you say is viewable by anyone if you are within their listening radius, and your messages becomes a permanent part of the chat history for your location. SO USE IN PUBLIC PLACES AND NOT AT HOME.
Your messages are stored on our servers along with the location determined by the iPhone, so the message stays with the place where it was said.
We use the message location to determine who can hear it and who can hear you and when you move to new areas the chat history will change accordingly. The chat history reflects whats been said within in your listening radius.
The chat history for a given location and listening radius will also be available for viewing on Indalos web page soon, put posting messages is only available via mobile devices with geolocation capability enabled.
