Description
SwingReader is a powerful and easy to use Golf Swing Analyzer for the iPhone 3GS. Features include the ability to select and analyze multiple swings from a single video recording; perform side-by-side comparison of swings; track swing tempo; use intuitive drawing tools; track swing motion; and much more.
Please note that SwingReader is for iPhone 3GS only and requires a video camera for swing recording. iPhone 3G, iPod Touch are not supported.

A detailed description of various features is as follows:
SWING RECORDING AND SELECTION
- Record multiple swings in a single video without taking breaks to restart the recording for each swing. After the video recording is complete, simply choose the swings you wish to analyze using SwingReader's swing selection tool. This unique feature enables you to take multiple swings without interruption.
- Import a swing from the iPhone camera roll. Use a prerecorded swing for analysis.
- Select the type of club and write notes for each swing.
- Trim a swing after a swing recording has been stored in SwingReader.
SWING PLAYBACK AND ANALYSIS
- True frame by frame playback which will allow you to clearly see 30 frames per second recorded by the iPhone video camera.
- Motion playback at various speeds ranging from 30 frames per second to 1 frame per second. View at 1 frame per second for the best visual feedback on your swing.
- The "Swipe control" feature enables you to forward and rewind the swing sequence frame by frame at the speed you want, using just your finger. Swipe faster or slower to increase or decrease the speed of display. Swipe control is a powerful tool for swing review.
- Use the touch screen graphics tool to draw lines and circles for plotting swing guides, such as the swing plane, spine angle and target line. Drawn items for each swing are automatically saved and will be available each time the swing is viewed.
SWING COMPARISON
- Compare two swings side-by-side in portrait or landscape mode.
- In portrait mode, the two swings are overlaid on top of each other. You can control the transparency to highlight the swing you wish to review.
- In landscape mode, the swings are displayed side-by-side.
- Synchronize the two swings so that swing playback is coordinated.
SWING TEMPO
- Measure a swing's tempo using SwingReader's innovative tempo analysis tool. Swing tempo is defined as the ratio of the time of upswing to downswing. This ratio is an important metric in determining swing timing and rhythm.
- Track the consistency of your swing tempo using SwingReader's tempo measurement and tracking tool.
SWING MOTION TRACKER
- Track your swing's motion over time with SwingReader's motion tracker. This is very useful in determining the path of the club head in space. Analyze if your club head path is out of plane, going outside-in, etc.
- Motion tracking works best with high frame rate videos (see example screenshot). We are actively working on algorithms to improve tracking for low frame rate videos.
EMAIL AND HELP
- Email your swing video with drawings to yourself or your instructor.
- Extensive help on how to use SwingReader Golf.
- 12 Steps that you can follow to successful swing analysis with SwingReader.
- Hints are displayed while using SwingReader. Disable and enable hints as desired.
