LocMarker – GPS location marker

LocMarker is used to mark, edit, and remember locations you currently at or places you plan to go or have visited. You want precise location but GPS and other location services may not be as accurate as you wished. Different from most location based applications, LocMarker allows user to easily correct the location on map. You can email or post to Facebook your location info (with or without a photo), or just keep the records for your own reference. It's a precise location tool and can be used as travel log.

Selected user scenarios/user experience:

We are going to have a party in a large park and wanted our families to know the exact location of our picnic table, but the location detected is about 50 yards away. By resetting location on the hybrid map in LocMarker, I made the pin point to our table. No guessing, no wondering for our families to arrive at the exact venue.

I'm a coordinator of a building that has 6 entrances. Using LocMarker, I made 6 records and associate each with a photo of the entrance. It's like a breeze for ours customers to find the right entrances.

My friends want to go fishing where I caught a 19-inch bass last year. Gladly I have a record of the location made by using LocMarker. It's effortless for me to email them the exact location, with a photo of the bass, of course :)

I keep my Facebook friend informed where I'm when traveling. LocMarker serves well for the purpose, with an option to upload a photo.

I enjoy making notes of places I went to. LocMarker is like a mini diary with time and geo location information automatically generated. I can easily choose to add or remove a photo for each record. I used to send post cards to families when I travel, and now LocMarker is a sweet replacement of that.

Requirements/Limitations:
1. Internet connection needed for sharing on Facebook and downloading map.
2. Location service takes a few moments to refresh and it caches its last reading. If the reading is not refreshed, you may try again later or just directly correct the location on the map.
3. For iPod Touch user, Wi-Fi is required to get location information, although you don't need to login to the Wi-Fi. With more and more Wi-Fi spots available in urban areas, parks, and hotels, iPod Touch users will find this app useful.
