The Dakar Rally is one of the worlds most famous and most fascinating motorsport events. For two weeks, 140 participants will tackle the biggest challenge offered by motorsport. While driving through Argentina and Chile they will traverse the notorious Atacama desert and cross the mountain ranges of the Andes twice. Volkswagen, too, will take on this endurance test from 02 to 16 January with the aim of repeating last years triumph. The automobile manufacturer will field five Race Touareg 2 vehicles powered by TDI engines for Carlos Sainz, Giniel de Villiers and company.
